The new cheat list in Vampire Survivors makes me wish they had more games

Vampire survivors The new 0.10.0 update adds a list of cheats, and after using it to unlock some things I’ve been stuck with, I really hope more games include one.

Vampire survivorsIf you haven’t heard of it, it’s a fun game about leveling up and Destroy thousands of monsters in one round. I would describe it as roguelike-ish. The starting character chooses certain attributes and a certain weapon, and you will level up that weapon and other weapons and other items as you collect gems by defeating enemies. Your weapons fire automatically, so you mostly have to worry about gaining experience and stuff while avoiding bad guys.

The game launched in Early Access on Steam late last year, and has received regular updates that add things like new characters, weapons, power-ups, stages, and special items, although you usually have to unlock them by completing certain requirements. The game is an absolute blast, but unlocking everything can be difficult and time consuming. I’ve already put 40 hours in Vampire survivors, but the in-game menu tells me I still have 26 things to unlock. When I look at that list, I sometimes get frustrated and choose to play something else.

The new cheat menu – in the game, it’s called the “Secrets” menu – might solve this frustration in a big way. It accepts tokens (“spells”) to unlock characters, special items (“relics”), and stages, which means I can now only choose what I want to unlock myself and what I’m going to cheat on. I’d still like to unlock most things by actually completing the requirements, but there were a few things I didn’t want to care about, and thanks to this list of secrets, I could easily get what I was least interested in.

Smart, developers Vampire survivors She also chose to make the list of secrets unlockable on its own. You won’t be able to find the item that unlocks it until you get a good understanding of the game and actually unlock some other stuff. If you get this far, I would argue that you can decide what you cheat on yourself, and I wish other games would take a similar approach.

I’m playing death strand Now, while I love the story, the gameplay is moment by moment very slow. I wish I could trick a truck with unlimited health, battery, and some sort of hovering ability so I could easily make deliveries and watch the game’s story, but I guess I’d have to struggle through hours of frustrating transit to learn what’s going on next to Sam Porter Bridges.

Vampire survivors The list of secrets not only unlocks unlockable items; There’s also a UI rotation spell, which I can appreciate for being silly even if it wasn’t fun to use at all. In the 0.10.0 patch notesThe developers say they are working on more spells, so hopefully there will be more uncommon ideas in the future. (Big head mode, perhaps?) I wouldn’t spoil how to unlock the list of secrets or what codes do what, but if you want to know, Here is the Game FAQ’s guide.
