Kurt Busch had a miserable qualifying session yesterday, crashing his car and giving his team an extra night of work, which they did by getting him a spare car. However, the veteran driver was still considered ineligible to participate in the race.
Why was that?
Well, Bosch took a good hit during his qualifying wreck, which left him with some concussions that didn’t heal properly in time. Following protocol in these situations, NASCAR has decided that he cannot participate in the race.

This certainly surprised some fans, but what surprised them the most was Busch’s alternate driver. The driver inside the Joe Gibbs Racing canopy, Ty Gibbs.
Now, ideally, Gibbs’ exchange for Busch should have excited most fans given how talented he is, and how he’s been leading so far this season.
But that wasn’t how fans reacted because they felt Gibbs wasn’t an expert, ready or simply deserving enough of a seat in a Cup car yet.

He should have gone with someone with more experience. Like John Hunter Nemechek…I actually crashed one car this weekend. You don’t want to put someone who has never driven a car before and smash another car

I love Ty Gibbs but they shouldn’t be able to hire a Novice as a replacement driver.
