Kohr Motorsports’ Luca Mars He was fastest overall in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice Friday morning (August 5th) at Road America. The lap of Mars was set at 106,686 mph during the second training session.
In the opening practice session on Thursday afternoon, the best times were set at the start of the 60-minute session. Kelly Moss Road & Race Alec Odell Set a lap of 106.502 mph nine minutes into the session on lap two quickly. That lap held to be the fastest of the session.
Udell’s lap was 035 seconds faster than Turner Motorsport Bill Oberlin. Riley Motorsports Thiago Camilo It was the third fastest car in his Toyota, followed by BF Racing Kyle Marseille In the fastest Ford cars. Murillo Racing canton cook It was fifth fastest.
Ruby Foley In second, Turner BMW ranked sixth with Murillo Racing’s Christian Chemsack close to the back. Rebel Rock Racing Robin Liddellafter winning at Lime Rock, ranked eighth, then BGB Motorsports’ Spencer Bumblebee. NOLAsport Jason Hart Rounding out the top ten in his Porsche.
At TCR, Road Shagger Racing’s John Morley He was fastest in his Audi with laps at 103.689 mph, good for 23rd overall. Morley’s lap was 286 seconds faster than the #15 Audi at Belgrade and Technisel Racing Dennis Dupont Leadership. VGRT’s Carl Whitmer Honda ranked third, followed by HART Chad Gelsinger. Van der Store Racing Tyler Gonzalez The best Hyundai was in fifth place. The fastest Hyundai Elantra N TCR Ryan Norman In the seventh.
Practice No. 2
The teams were met with cooler weather for the second training session on Friday morning. However, the higher temperatures meant that much of the session’s best times were set in the opening 15 minutes. Among that group, Pumpelly was the fastest.
However, Mars came back in the closing minutes of the session and set the fastest lap of the weekend with just over seven minutes left. Mars ended up 129 seconds faster than a Bumblebee lap in the first 10 minutes. Foley was third, then Billy Johnson In the second KohR Motorsports Ford. CarBahn Motorsports with Peregrine Racing’s Tyler McCurry was the fifth.
In the TCR, VGRT’s Wittmer was the fastest in his class with a lap of 103.504 mph, good for 26th overall. The lap was slower than Morley’s fast lap on Thursday, but faster than Wittmer’s best time in the first session.
The Wittmer lap was a second and a quarter faster than the lap of Van der Steur Racing Rory van der Store. KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering’s Tim Lewis Jr. It took third place on the single Alfa Romeo account, while DuPont finished fourth. Ryan Eversley Fifth place in the HART Honda Civic Type-R TCR
